Hole in One for the Mayor
Our Technology department was approached
Photos courtesy of Richard Howle recently by the Newcastle Mayor’s Charity to
help with a problem.
Peter Hailstones, Mayor’s consort, designed a
golfing game which needed to be manufactured
before it could be distributed to social clubs for the
vulnerable and disabled in return for a donation to
the Mayor’s Charity.
Graham South and Les Mellor decided this was an
ideal practical project for Year 11 students, and
Andy Adam, Danial Shaker and Conor Davies were
happy to oblige.
Completed boards were presented in March to the
Newcastle Weekly Social Club for the Blind and
Partially Sighted by Mayor Hailstones and her
consort, accompanied by representatives from
Newcastle Borough Council, Staffordshire and
Stoke-on-Trent Partnership NHS Trust and Clayton
Hall.
Members of the club were delighted, and several
tried the game immediately.
