This java applet is a simulation of a ripple tank.
It demonstrates waves in two dimensions (what the waves look like from above)

Settings for 1st session

1st Drop down menu: Choose either single source setup (the first in the list) or Plane wave set up (15th in the list)
2nd Drop down menu: Choose 1 Src 1 freq (1 source 1 frequency)
3rd Drop down menu: Leave tthis on "edit wave" (you do not need this)
Clear waves Button: Use this to restart the waves
Clear walls Button- Not needed-do not use
Add border button: Not needed-do not use
Stopped tick box: This stops (pause) the waves movement
Fixed edges tick box: Not needed-do not use
3D view tick box: This shows you the view of the actual waves from above and to the side
Simulation speed slide bar: This adjusts the speed the waves are produced at
Resolution Slide bar: This adjusts the clarity of the screen
Source frequency: This adjusts the frequency of the generated waves
Brightness slide bar: This alters the brightness of the waves
