Welcome

It’s a pleasure to welcome you to Clayton Hall Business and Language College's website. Situated on the edge of Newcastle-under-Lyme in North Staffordshire, the school is based around a Grade II listed building referred to as the Old Hall. This is where the library and administration is housed. The rest of the school comprises a mixture of buildings dating from 1940–2004. We are an 11–16 mixed comprehensive of nearly 1000 students and over 100 staff. I think we’re a very happy school and I’m always pleased with the very positive relationship between staff and students. Our links with parents are particularly strong and we have looked increasingly to our community for both inspiration and support.

Like many comprehensives, we believe in offering a full range of experiences both inside and outside the classroom. Clayton Hall is for everyone regardless of their ability. Equally, we believe that there is talent in all of us and it is part of our job to find and nurture that talent in everybody who comes to the school. From 8.00 am to often beyond 6.00 pm the school is at work fulfilling our ambitious goal to provide challenge and variety to our students.
